In the morning I heard Ella cry. She was sitting on bed crying. I pet her back. She said "要插鼻涕。" I got paper and noticed it was a little after 7. I wiped, and she asked again. And I wiped again. She had been doing this thing where she sucked in really hard when I put tissue by her nose, and when I demonstrated blowing, she would say "哼!" but don't blow hard enough. Suddenly Mimi popped up and said "我要盖被。" I put blanket on her, Ella crawled down and I tucked her in. They laid motionless and I went back to bed.
Sometime later I heard boinginginging sound of the girls playing with the door stopper. And wild laughs. I opened the door. Ba ba came up and informed me lao lao and lao ye were waiting for them.
I intermittently heard the girls wild and lao ye talking to them from downstairs, but kept going back to sleep. Finally I woke up and listened to lao lao and lao ye teaching them Chinese characters from downstairs. I got up and cleaned up, and came down around 10:30. By this time Mimi had lost interest in drawing and was wondering around and whining. Ella was still focusing on some drawing. Lao lao asked Ella to tell me what the letter 田 was, she did correctly. She then asked what the letter 于 was. Ella said "不知道", "是姥爷", "是妈妈", but missed it was our 姓。She then said "我给你写Ella", lao lao gave her the paper, she drew a little moon shaped thing. Then traced the 田 letter.
A few nights ago Mimi pointed at the character 的 and asked me what it was, I told her it was de. She asked a few times, then she said "这两个字是的。" I explained to her 的 had a left and right part, but made one character together.
红豆粥婆婆 story has a 臭巴巴 in it that helps the old lady beat up the tiger. Mimi calls it 臭爸爸。She loved it and always called it out as soon as we flipped to the page. She only called ba ba 把拔, or 把鼻。So we wonder if she called the poop 爸爸 to not stink up her idea of ba ba.
Mimi, when given food in bowl, sometimes burstly says "够了够了够了够了够了。" Today when I came downstairs, lao lao was feeding Ella something, she said slowly and seriously "够了姥姥。够了。"
When we came back it was almost 2pm, the girls had been put to bed. We heard constant boinging boining from upstairs. At least they had given up coming out of the door after lao lao held the door handle for a long time.
We got passion fruit, I peeled one and the girls crowded me asking to try. They loved the passion fruit and finished both. They liked it even more than the fluffy buns we got. The girls then played with lao lao and lao ye for most of the time.
Lao ye showed mimi a book with Chinese characters. Mimi recognized 月 and said "淘气的月。你为什么藏在这里。Mimi 抱着淘气的月走了。" She then played with月 on the car. Claiming the seat beside hers was 月的。
Ella really liked the 木鱼 and wouldn't let Mimi have a turn. It was time to eat and we asked her to put the mu yu away. She sat by the table, hid the mu yu under the table cloth of the big table, petted it, and went on to eat.
On the changing table, Ella said her back was 痒痒。Ba ba and I examined her, she really was rashy. Ba ba and I discussed possible reason the girls always get a rash at lao lao's, in English. Once we stopped, Ella said "爸爸你问我什么问题。"
Ella wanted to say good night to lao ye. Lao ye hurried and ran to her. She said good night. Then grabbed lao ye and my hand and walked up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, lao ye said this is where he stops. Ella pointed at the door and said ok, this is where you stop.
Ella said "妈妈跟我们睡小床。再去睡大床。" We laid on the bed together for some time. Before bed we read the 白眉老人 story. Ella hugged my head tightly, said "我报仇我的妈妈。" Mimi joined in and 报仇'd ba ba. Although she was slapping ba ba violently. The girls said 报仇x happily. Ella said "我在自己的姥姥姥爷家报仇我的妈妈。" Then "姥姥姥爷报仇了我。我报仇了爸爸妈妈。" Mimi said "报仇报仇报仇报仇报仇报仇报仇。" Ba ba stood up and said he was hit enough. Mimi whined waaaah, quickly said "我的爸爸我的爸爸我的爸爸我的爸爸". Ella also sat up and said "好痒。" We laid down a little more. Then we stood to leave. Mimi said burstly "爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸爸。" We left. I asked the girls to practice kong fu in their dream. Ella chuckled and said "你不要偷看我。" I agreed.
The girls diminished quickly today, after giving me a cute audio track.
