In my sleep I heard Mimi cry. I went into their room. The girls were both up, Mimi was whining, Ella seemed to be looking at her. I tried to comfort Mimi with some success. The girls loudly repeated my statement that people were asleep, lao lao was asleep, lao ye was asleep, ba ba was asleep, dog was asleep. I explained that dog was not asleep. Mimi said she wanted to see dog. I opened the door, Frank was of course looking at us through the crack of the James and my bedroom door, and swiftly came into the girls room. Ella rioted and whined, tried to slap at all things in her radius, I sent Frank away. Mimi wanted to go downstairs, I promised to get my glass, check the time, and see if it was OK. It was a little after 6:30am. When I left the girls' room yesterday it was a little 11:30 and Ella was still awake. I remembered they always slept late and woke up early at lao lao's. And felt silly the first thing I looked forward to for the trip was sleeping in. I went back to the girls room and tried to lay down with them. The girls were very excited and talked loudly, I took them downstairs. After we came downstairs, the girls both stood looking at what I thought was the clock. But turned out to be the photo of them besides it. Ella said "我们死了所以变成照片了。" I explained they simply grew up. Mimi said "但是我们太小。我们还太小。"
I put Ella on the changing table, Ella grabbed my hand, said "要拉着妈妈的胳膊。" I told her I couldn't change with one hand, but she smiled and refused to let go. I tugged on her diaper and played with her. After a while she let my arm go.
A little before 7:30 ba ba woke up, so I took the girls to shower. I went in the room, passing ba ba, and headed in the bathroomm to prepare. I heard Ella outside said "哪儿是我洗澡的地方呀。" After a bit I saw an Ella in the room.
We had fun plays and it felt like a productive morning. At 10:30 ba ba and I headed out for date.
We came back in the afternoon after the girls just fell asleep. We woke them up after an hour, the girls were in good spirits. We read stories downstairs. We read the 妖怪油炸饼 story. When the ghost almost got fried, Mimi cupped it out of the page, said "保护！" with the burstiest and cutest voice, held her hands close to her chin. When the ghost went out of the window, Mimi did it again, said "吧小妖怪保护到窗外。" Mimi always 保护'ed things in stories that were in danger or were sad.
Mimi occasionally asked for 蜜蜂摇摇, I asked if they wanted to go out, Mimi excitedly bounced to the door. We took a while to change diapers and do hair. We made to the room by the door. I tried to put the pink coat on her, she bounce slapped it, said "这不是我的。紫的是我的。" I said she was 紫Mi. She happily repeated "我是紫Mi." I tried to give Ella the white coat because it went with her red pants, but she cerned and said "我的是粉色的。" I put the pink coat on her. Mimi said "粉wooo\/" with her chuckle laugh.
Mimi saw the "月牙", the girls had a conversation about parts of the moon 会乌云家了。

I held Ella's hand and slowly came down the stairs. Mimi zoomed ahead and two houses ahead when we made it down. She turned back briefly, said "你们追上我吧". I ran to her to intercept her before she got to the hidden drive way, made sure it was safe, then released her, she ran ahead, saying something like "车不可以。"
The girls run towards the field. Mimi tried to crouch down and sneak through the fence, but she's too tall. She tried every couple fence partitions. I asked if she'd like to walk on the grass, she confirmed. I lifted the girls over the fence. Lao ye caught up with us. The girls immediately found some mushrooms, claiming "毒蘑菇。" The girls stared at them for a bit. Mimi ran away. Ella started stepping them and crashing them. She found more mushroom a few steps away and crashed them too.
Mimi went straight for 蜜蜂摇摇。Ella claimed the double rocker beside it. We rocked a little and a little girl came. I invited her on to rock with Ella. She came on and happily looked at Ella. Ella started squealing and requesting to come down. I took her down and rocked with the girl. Ella stood beside and looked intensely. I asked if she could play together. She said "no\" with a serious slow head shake.
Ella requested to swing, and Mimi immediately requested to swing. We swung them. One Ella's swing is a little off the peak, she would request "要高一点！" I asked her to straighten her legs when she swung forward. She wouldn't do it. Mimi said "伸直", and really straightened her legs, she held them straight. The next time Ella requested, I asked her again to straighten, she said "伸直！", and held her arms straight up high in the air, her legs still dangling.
Mimi saw the "月牙", the girls had a conversation about parts of the moon 会乌云家了。
Ella started spacing out in the swing. She then tilted her head back and dangled swung for a bit. She then straightened up and asked to go to 蜜蜂摇摇。Mimi immediately asked to go to 蜜蜂摇摇 too. I asked her to wait till Ella's done, and took Ella to the 蜜蜂摇摇。Ella rocked a little bit, then started spacing out, then she straightened up, and asked to come out.
She wondered around the playground and went to the spin around thing. She tumbled on top, asked me to spin, I did, she said "快一点！" I spun faster, she said "woo eeeen 要下来！" She carefully stepped down, took one step, took another step all the way to the other side, and fell down. I asked Ella if she was dizzy, she said "Ella晕了。Ella是蜗牛了。" Probably because when we draw a dizzy person I said I'll give them snail eyes.
Ella requested the 跷跷板。Mimi came out of nowhere and requested 跷跷板 too. I asked if I could sit with Ella so she could rest her cold hands, she rejected and flung at the seat beside her, "妈妈你的座位在那里。" Lao ye and I stood behind the girls and rocked them. Lao ye took some cute videos. I asked Mimi to sing 跷跷板 a song too. Mimi started singing 白龙马，finished the first verse, moved on the second. Ella joined in and Mimi got frustrated. Lao ye took some cute videos.
The girl from the rocker came too and looked at the 跷跷板。 I asked if she'd like to ride and she cutely nodded. I let her on. The girls started rioting and requesting to leave or not allowing the other girl to sit. Mimi said to la ye "他坐了你的座位！" The girls struggled and came down.
Lao ye stated he was cold and asked the girls to go back with him, the girls followed. I grabbed Ella's hands, which were icy and red. I pulled her sleeves over her hands. Mimi started to whine at the edge of the playground. She looked back longingly. I asked her if she'd like to play a little more, she said quietly "我要玩这个。" I walked with her to the two people rocker and put her up to rock. Mimi slightly put her hands hiding in her sleeve on the handle. I asked her to grab, she gently dusted the handle. Ella came back, cerned, and said "我也要玩儿。" I lifted her up, asked if her little cold hands could hold the handle. She got her hands out of her sleeves. Put them on the bar and grasped tightly. Lao ye and me marveled at how tough Ella was. The girls rocked a few seconds, Ella took her hands back, said "我要下来了。太冷了。我的小手儿太冷了。我不玩儿了。" We got the girls down, and tried to walk away again.
Mimi walked very slowly. She shrunk her arms in her sleeves and crouched while walking, but when lao ye asked if she was cold, always said "不冷。" Ella grabbed my hand, then lao ye's hand, then led us up the hill to the walk way. Lao ye had to part ways to go back to get Mimi. Ella walked with me a little bit, then turned and squealed. I asked her what was wrong. Ella yelled "MIMI!" repeatedly. I also yelled for Mimi. Ella said "如果我走了。Mimi就看不到我了。" And slowly walked back towards Mimi.
We went back and met Mimi, I asked if Mimi wanted to balance beam, she looked forward, then picked up her pace and passed Ella. Ella asked me to pick her up, I did. She held me, said "我要妈妈抱。因为我太冷了。" I asked if she wanted to balance, she said "我要平衡。但是太冷了。" I asked if she wanted to come down to balance, she whined.
I carried Ella and walked past a Mimi balancing by herself on the steps. We walked a little and Ella started struggling again, her whines changed to yelling for "MIMI". I put her down. She yelled for "MIMI" until lao ye and Mimi caught up. She hugged lao ye's hugs, said "要保护。不会变成冰雕。" Lao ye picked up Mimi. Ella my hand, then turned around and batted at lao ye until lao ye gave her his hand, she said "一只手拉姥爷一只手拉妈妈。" She walked nicely with us while lao ye held Mimi, until we crossed the street.
At night ba ba and I attempted to take the girls to the light show at bear creek park. Lao ye left to walk Frank. I led Ella to the car, she climbed up, after some attempts to climb up with her coat, then her water bottle. She sat in the chair, and asked "姥姥姥爷呢。" I said they won't come with us this time, and lao ye went to walk Frank. Ella said "姥爷遛狗回来。可以和我们一起吗。" I said yes hesitantly. I started buckling Ella. Ella grabbed the belt, cerned, said "我们少了一个人。我们少了姥爷。" And she gestured at the seat beside her. I said this activity lao ye will skip. She seemed to accept and let me finish buckling and we left. For the first few minutes of driving, she intermittently yelled out "姥爷！" or "姥姥姥爷！" After one yell, I said we'll tell lao ye how beautiful the lights are when we're back. Ella said "我告诉姥爷灯灯有多漂亮。姥爷你要去看吗。姥爷说。。。不要。" Then she said with lower volume "那好吧。那MimiElla自己去看吧。"
The traffic was moving too slowly, Ella started crying "要出来。" After a few minutes I went back to sit with her. She whined "不要袜子。" I took off her sock, asked if she felt better, she said "感觉好多了。我要吃东西。" I got the box of chex, Ella happily put it on her lap and munched on square pieces. She briefly asked about triangle pieces, and I noticed there was not any, maybe she really finished them from her previous pickings. James also couldn't resist and had many handfuls while expressing his feeling of shame.
We realized we won't be able to get to the park probably until 8pm, so we decided to turn back. I rubbed Mimi's cheeks and talked loudly it was time to wake up. Mimi flipped side to side, pinching her eyes closed. I then put on peppa, Mimi immediately opened a sliver of her eye and squinted at the screen. After a minute of squinting she was back to big eyed cute Mi.
We got back the lao lao's neighbourhood. I told the girls to tell lao lao and lao ye we couldn't see the lights. Ella said "Ella看不到灯了。Mimi/爸爸/妈妈/狗狗看不到灯了。月亮星星看不到灯了。" I said the moon and the stars could see the lights because they're very high up and the higher you are the more you can see. Ella said "我们不是月亮星星。所以我们不住在天上。" Mimi cutely said "我们坐飞机。"
We got home. Lao ye played with the girls and read stories for a long time.
Just when we were starting the bedtime routine, Ella requested to change diaper. She said she was 臭。Although no one remembered her pooping. I tried to lift her and she struggled and whined. Then still requested to 换尿布。After another attempt, she said "我要自己上去。" I gave a chair, she climbed onto the chair and then the changing table. Once she laid down, she grabbed my hand and put it on her cheek and rubbed and rubbed. I asked her if I could have my hand to wipe her butt, she said "不可以。我要抱头。" Lao lao was nearby so I asked lao lao to bao, Lao lao bent down and smiled at Ella ready to put her hand on Ella's cheek, Ella flung her hands at lao lao and slapped both her cheeks, she then proceeded to slap and rub lao lao's cheeks violently.
Ella started going up the stairs without us asking. She had been rubbing eyes while lao ye told story and looked tired in general. I went to walk with her, she briefly turned back and whined a little, then started crawling upstairs. After getting to the top, she sat by the wall with her back to it, said "哪个是我的房间啊。" I asked her if it was the one to the right. She said "这是姥姥的新房间。" Yesterday when we came up she asked the same thing, I asked her to try remember, she said she didn't know. I opened the right door to find out it wasn't their room, and led them to their other room. Ella said "这是姥姥的新房间" back then too.
The girls cried a lot so I went into the room. I petted Ella and she laid down. Mimi whined "要盖被要盖被。" I put the comforter on her, she kicked the blanket off, cried "我要姥姥盖被。" I informed her lao lao had went to rest and had delegated me to care for her. She whined "我要爸爸。" I informed her the same about ba ba. She still said "我不要你" and slapped me with hai bao. I said I have promised lao lao and ba ba to take care of her, no matter if she hits me. She stopped hitting me. After a bit she said quietly "我要盖被。" I put the blanket on her and tucked her in. I asked her if she got hai bao, she hugged hai bao close. I asked Ella if she needed anything, Ella said "我的兔子。你摸一下。" She had requested me pet her bunny many times since last night, whenever she had the bunny in the room, and called it her "小软兔". I petted the bunny, the ears, and the dress. Ella said "妈妈你和我们在小屋睡。然后你去大屋睡。" I agreed and laid down. Ella showered me with kiss storms. Mimi rubbed me extremely briskly, burstly said "我摸。"
Ella suddenly said "姥爷不保护他的牙齿。" Mimi said laughingly, "姥爷保护他的舌头。" Ella said "MimiElla保护他的舌头牙齿。" They then laughed and repeated about protecting tongues.
I suddenly felt poopergy and had to go, I informed the girls, Ella said "我要跟你去厕所。" I said it was a journey by myself and hurried out of the door, I heard the girls yell things about "臭妈妈。" After I sat down to poop, the girls had started singing baby shark, and I can hear them clearly over the wall. I suddenly heard Mimi say "妈妈快大aa出来了。" Then they went back to singing baby shark. After a while they seemed to sing "mommy屁do do do do".
The girls chatted and laughed wildly. Mimi's voice died down sometime after 9:45, Ella finally gone a little after 10, more than an hour after they went in the room.
