The girls woke up very early in vancouver today, way earlier than usual. They were too excited to play with grandpa, and they had a rowdy morning. Grand pa pa reported Mimi would ask for "bao bao ye ye" (she refused to say "person bao bao" instead of "bao bao person" to ask for pick up), once up she would look around and say "yao ju ju" or yao something she sees. After getting a ju ju, she clawed at the orange saying "bo pi". Grand ma ma reported Mimi was a good egg peeler. After lots of playing and snacking, mama and dada took the girls to a nice little park to walk around. It was chilly so the girls had to bundle up, mimi had a cat jacket and a scarf while ella had the bunny hoodie. At the park, the girls explored around and discovered a fountain. Mimi and ella tried to play with the frigid water, but it was too dangerous since they would fall in and turn into little ice cubes. The girls were memorized by the light rail when it goes through.

At one of the nice big trees, ella found her favorite pinecone and carried it the rest of the walk and all the way back to the car. Time to go somewhere for lunch!

At the restaurant, mama and dada were taking the girls from the car only to discover that ella had started chewing on her pinecone. She was covered in pinecone dirt and little flecks. Dada asked her to spit out the what she ate and she sputtered it out. It was not very tasty. Hopefully the food would be tastier.

After we sat down, food was ordered and the girls sat and banged away with chopsticks on the table. Once the food arrived, the girls didn't eat much they were more interested in the cheerio snack. One of the cooks in the kitchen was playing peek-a-boo with the girls and they loved trying to spot the cook uncle. They got a little fussy so it was time to head home.

At home they wouldn't sleep. They were binked and became quiet. After a bit the adults started hearing banging up the stairs. After a bit the adults started hearing chatting up the stairs. They were taken down and found their second wind. Mimi would ask mama to sit in her lap, and then demand watermelon. Dada would offer watermelon so mimi had to come down and go to dada for watermelon. Then she would run back and ask for mama's lap. After several loops of this, the girls took out the giant legos and started stacking. Mimi built it very high and said "HAO GAO" which is "SO HIGH" in mandarin. Ella joined in, partially disassembled mimi's construction and rebuilt it to ella's specifications. Mimi moved onto riding in the little car and was about to get in when ella spotted her. Ella ran over said "NO MIMI" and a battle began. So much biting, hair pulling, and tears. Their second wind ran out, so it was time for a late nap.

After their short nap, it was time for dinner. They were pretty fussy about it so we put on some little videos so they could calm down and eat. Mimi was the most upset, unable to eat for a while. Ella feasted on noodles and some pastry while mimi would only accept the occasional blueberry. Mimi eventually got her energy back and then would ONLY eat blueberries. The blueberries were the most sour blueberries. Mimi moved onto some pastries and discovered that they were disgusting. Time for a nice little bath.

After bath time, they played a lot with grandma and grandpa. Grandpa taught them a little chinese song and the girls would finish each phrase of the song for grandpa. And then off to bed.
